Born with Cerebral Palsy, Joy started skiing in Winter Park. Previously discouraged from participating in sports due to high pain levels, Joy's coach encouraged her to try Nordic sit-skiing. Much to her surprise, once skiing and training began, the pain was gone. Rondeau loves biathlon because of the challenge it brings. She has been on the team since 2016 and competed in the 2018 Paralympics. She was named Colorado Sports Hall of Fame Athlete of the Year with a Disability in 2016.
