Zach was diagnosed with cerebral palsy as a baby. He first tried skiing at age six and took up Para snowboard at age eight through the Children's Hospital Colorado sports program in Denver, CO. He joined Adaptive Action Sports at age 14 in Copper Mountain, CO to pursue a career as an elite Para snowboarder. He was named part of the 2019-2020 U.S. Paralympic National Snowboarding team summer 2019. Although he is one of the youngest members of the national team, he has already won medals in the world cup and world championship.
